A mechanical pencil that keeps its lead sharp as you write
The Uni Kuru Toga Standard is the classic entry point into Uni’s self‑sharpening mechanical pencil range. It uses the original Kuru Toga lead‑rotation mechanism: every time you lift the pencil from the page, a tiny gear inside rotates the 0.5 mm lead by a few degrees, so the tip wears evenly and stays cone‑shaped instead of flattening into a wedge. This gives consistently finer lines, reduces the need to constantly twist the pencil, and helps prevent lead breakage during everyday writing.

The Standard model has a lightweight plastic (PC resin) barrel with a comfortable rubberised grip, a sturdy plastic clip, and a simple push‑action to advance the lead. A small transparent window near the top lets you check how much lead is left, and the pencil comes pre‑loaded with 0.5 mm HB Nano Dia lead for smooth, dark writing. It’s refillable with standard 0.5 mm leads and uses a replaceable Size S eraser under the cap.
