Solar Eclipse Pinhole Viewer
I've always wanted to find a good way to use those carton boxes laid around... When the solar eclipse happened, I had an idea.... I could make a solar eclipse viewer from the cardboard!
The tools we use today.
Flatten the cardboard to make it easier to work with.
Draw the template onto the cardboard.
Tips: Draw dotted lines at where it needs to be folded. Also why not use the folding line to make things easier!
Let’s start cutting! Be sure the place a cutting mat underneath first! Love using my safety cutting ruler so I don't lose any fingers.
Tips: Cut in several light passes to cut easier following the line.
Tada! One last thing to do before folding is to draw and cut out the viewing and pinhole window where we will cover it with aluminium foil.
Sticking in progress… don’t be afraid of its raw look.
Tips: Peel of the sticking tabs making it thinner.
Almost there! Cut a blank paper to cover up the end of the box, where the solar eclipse will be projected onto.
Made it on time to watch the solar eclipse! Though it's very flimsy, I definitely enjoy the experience.
